  • Karin Boyd, MS, PG – Fluvial Geomorphology, Geology.Karin received a B.S. in geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an M.S. from the University of Wyoming. Karin is the owner of Applied Geomorphology, Inc. and has been working in the field of applied fluvial geomorphology for 22 years. Her primary interest is evaluating watershed-scale geomorphic processes in Montana, determining within a given watershed, how the physical environment and human influences collectively affect geomorphic systems, and using that information to develop process-based strategies for resource management and stream restoration. In this capacity Ms. Boyd has developed a unique ability to integrate disparate information, ideas and concepts from a wide variety of physical and social sciences. This applied approach contributes to her success in developing realistic applied approaches to projects that are both scientifically sound and acceptable to competing interests.
